We are located at 702 Kennedy Road, Scarborough, Ontario, M1K 2B5
That's south of Eglinton, on the west side of Kennedy, behind the
Church of the Epiphany.
We are within walking distance of the Kennedy TTC Station.
And we are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year

OUR MISSION
We provide both the basics and some major extras. The basics: food, clothing, and shelter for homeless youth between the ages of 16 and 21.  The extras include counseling and the opportunity to become self-reliant within the community.

OUR HISTORY
In 1984, a Human Services of Scarborough youth task force found that during the school year, at any given time, 285 Scarborough high school students needed emergency shelter and were unable to access immediate services within the community.  Three years later Second Base was incorporated as a community based non-profit organization.

We opened our doors for the first time on December 8, 1993, and within two months we were operating at.
 
Today, in addition to the emergency shelter, Second Base operates a Housing, Information and Referral Centre (Drop-in) that services both shelter residents and youth from the community at large.
