Dear Allison:
I wanted to
commend you on the great work that you are doing at Second Base. My staff and I
have visited your Shelter on numerous occasions and we are particularly
impressed with the excellent relationship that you have with the residents and
the family environment you have been able to create.
At your open
house, we noticed that the residents were happy, giving, and they were comfortable
in the environment. We aspire to imitate some of the things that you are doing,
especially the family environment you have created. Many of the residents
commented on that fact they feel safe there, they believe that you take the
time to listen and act on their concerns.
I hope to meet
with you soon to discuss some of the great things that you are doing to promote
and maintain safety in the Shelter. I know that you have made many positive
changes and it shows in your increase in occupancy and the fact that many youth
has made Second Base their Shelter of choice.
